Paula (Sustad), a St. Louis antique appraiser, reluctantly accepts her lover Daniel’s (Giles Panton, Chesapeake Shores), a career-focused lawyer, marriage proposal as Christmas approaches. Paula is invited to her aunt Jane’s (Gifford) house in Nantucket when she detects that she is experiencing conflicted feelings about the engagement. Paula decides to visit the adjacent island of Martha’s Vineyard as soon as she gets there, where she meets Gery (Campbell), a beautiful innkeeper. Paula is unable to leave due to terrible weather, so she ends up staying at Gery’s inn and joining him for the local holiday celebrations. As their feelings for one another develop, they part ways when the weather improves, and Paula goes back to Nantucket. Aunt Jane tells Paula that she thinks she has a crush on Gery.
